INDIANAPOLIS (Jan. 13, 2022) – Conexus Indiana, a statewide organization dedicated to strengthening Indiana’s advanced manufacturing and logistics industries, has expanded its industry engagement team by recently adding Cameron Borthwick as director of Industry Development. She joins Tara Pearson, who was hired in mid-2021 as director of Industry Engagement, as the team’s second director.
“Connection and collaboration are essential to Indiana’s ongoing leadership in the advanced manufacturing and logistics sectors,” said Bryce Carpenter, vice president of Industry Engagement for Conexus Indiana. Conexus Indiana’s Industry Engagement team works with more than 250 industry, academic, and public-sector partners to identify and implement programs, research and strategies that strengthen Indiana’s advanced manufacturing and logistics industries “With Tara fully onboard and the addition of Cameron, we have the firepower to further amplify our work to identify and leverage opportunities and engage employers and other stakeholders in ways that benefit them, their workers and the state,” Carpenter said.
Borthwick comes to Conexus Indiana from the Purdue Research Foundation, where she most recently served as director of Development, with a focus on the Purdue College of Agriculture, and previously served as manager of Development Operations and Donor Stewardship. The Purdue graduate and native Hoosier recently earned her Master of Public Administration degree from Indiana University-Bloomington. In her new role at Conexus, Borthwick is responsible for growing Conexus Indiana’s partner network and helping to attract new business to Indiana.
Pearson joined Conexus Indiana in 2021 after working as an independent finance and management consultant with small to mid-market firms and nonprofits. With a finance degree from the University of Florida and an MBA from Rollins College, Pearson also worked in the public sector as a policy and advocacy analyst and researcher. Earlier in her career, the Florida native worked in various analyst roles in banking and corporate finance. In her role at Conexus Indiana, Pearson works with industry, academic and public-sector partners to advance strategies and research that strengthens the state’s advanced manufacturing and logistics industries.
