Advanced Manufacturing and Logistics: Indiana’s Innovation Economy – Exploring Transportation Megatrends

When: Thursday, June 7, 2018 from 7:30 – 10:00 a.m.

What: Conexus Indiana invites industry, academic and public sector partners to learn more about transportation megatrends from Indiana’s advanced manufacturing and logistics leaders

Details: This event will feature keynote speaker, Henry Maier, president and CEO of FedEX Ground, as well as remarks from Governor Eric J. Holcomb who will present the inaugural Andre B. Lacy Vanguard Award to the winner. The event will also feature a panel moderated by Brandye Hendrickson, acting administrator of the Federal Highway Administration. Panelists include: Darcy Bullock, director of the Joint Transportation Research Program at Purdue University, Glen De Vos, chief technology officer at Aptiv, Tom Linebarger, chairman and CEO of Cummins, and Joe McGuinness, commissioner of the Indiana Department of Transportation. The panelists will be answering questions on transportation topics, including:

  • How is connected transportation evolving and what infrastructure is required to support it?
  • What is the current focus of regulatory policy related to these new technologies in commercial transportation?
  • How best can the advanced manufacturing and logistics industries prepare for, and capitalize on, these transportation disruptors?
  • How is industry and the public sector working together to address safety issues and concerns?
  • What are the workforce implications of implementing these new technologies in commercial transportation?
  • How will we manage mixed transportation modes as we transition into this new transportation environment?
