Starting on June 10, Conexus Indiana is hosting the Movers & Makers of Tomorrow Summer Summit, a virtual gathering of Indiana high school students to learn more about advanced manufacturing and logistics (AML). The summit kicks off on June 10 and will continue through July 15 with new content being updated weekly on Wednesdays.
The goal of the Summer Summit is to:
- Showcase the crucial AML industries in Indiana that have stepped up in crisis to combat COVID-19 and continue to offer accessible career pathways to a large number of Hoosiers
- Develop employability skills such as teamwork, communication, interviewing and resume writing that will be relevant regardless of a student’s chosen career path
- Bring students together from across the state to build a sense of community and share experiences
Replacing the annual in-person Conexus Interns Summit, the virtual summit is aimed at a much broader audience and will be available for a longer duration. Rather than creating a two-day intensive schedule, every Indiana high school student is invited to participate throughout the months of June and July. Conexus will be featuring more industry partners than in the past, and all are providing direct messaging to students by way of webcam recordings. Participants of the 2020 summit will be able to engage with content at their convenience, allowing for a much more flexible and accommodating platform. The Conexus team is especially excited to offer a robust selection of employability skills content. From time management skills to effective teamwork and communication to financial literacy, the Movers and Makers of Tomorrow 2020 Summer Summit is equipping Indiana’s high school students with the skills they need to launch AML careers.
